MASADA PREP'S TRANSITIONAL MODEL
The model of learning for Masada Prep involves a Transitional Model with an emphasis on technology and career tech. There is also some project based learning areas. We are more transitional but there are in fact project based learning features.
Teaching Methodology
At Masada Prep, we educate students in grades K-12 through an integrated approach that utilizes a diverse array of teaching strategies. Our goal is to encourage students to explore their individual interests while customizing learning to suit each child's abilities and intellectual level. Our teaching strategies include:
Students must demonstrate mastery of concepts before advancing, particularly in core subjects such as math, science, language arts, and social studies.
We foster independent thinking and learning, enhancing vocabulary and problem-solving skills.
Our curriculum emphasizes ethical decision-making, cultural understanding, and empathy towards others, equipping students to navigate diverse perspectives.
We focus on cultivating students into proficient readers, speakers, and writers, preparing them for future academic and personal success.
HYBRID MODEL
Masada Prep employs a hybrid teaching model, allocating students' time among various educational modalities
Engaging with fundamental subjects to build a strong academic foundation.
Participating in group and individual activities that enhance social and emotional development.
Utilizing virtual education, business and career workshops, and character-building experiences to reinforce learned skills.
Offering personalized support in subjects where students may need additional help, along with guidance in college and career readiness and effective study strategies.
Integrated Curriculum
Masada Prep utilizes a combined curriculum from reputable providers such as Pearson, Savvas, Infinite Campus, and Its learning,
ensuring a balanced education aligned with national core standards while incorporating character-building components.
Key elements of the Masada Prep educational approach include:
Pre-placement evaluations designed to identify learning gaps while capitalizing on students’ strengths.
Focusing on core subjects such as math, science, language arts, and social studies to ensure deep understanding.
Engaging students in studies that promote awareness of diverse cultures and ethical considerations, fostering real-life application of knowledge.
Programs designed to enhance students’ emotional intelligence by teaching essential soft skills like interpersonal communication, positive habits, and relational competence.
CORE Curriculum
Masada Prep's core curriculum encompasses four essential subjects
Our program is designed to instill a love for literature while fostering reading mastery from an early age. The phonics-based curriculum in grades K-2 promotes foundational reading skills. Students engage in writing workshops that teach essential skills such as pre-writing, drafting, revising, and editing, emphasizing interdisciplinary oral and written communication.
Adhering to national Common Core Standards for Mathematics, our approach blends rigorous knowledge application with real-world problem-solving skills, ensuring students develop the competencies needed for college and future careers.
The science curriculum encourages students to experiment, observe, and analyze to grasp the scientific process. We employ diverse teaching methods, including demonstrations, experiments, and research projects, to captivate students’ interest in the subject.
Our K-5 curriculum focuses on local, state, and national studies, emphasizing community involvement. In middle and high school, students explore local, national, and international topics from historical and contemporary perspectives, fostering a deeper understanding of their world.
NON-CORE Curriculum
To enhance its core curriculum, Masada Prep offers a diverse array of exploratory subjects designed to engage students and broaden their educational experience:
Beginning in kindergarten and continuing through eighth grade, our art program nurtures students’ appreciation for creativity while teaching them about various materials and artistic processes. Students gain exposure to design components, different forms of expression, and art history, enriching their understanding of the art world.
Masada Prep provides music education for students in grades K-12, allowing them to explore a wide range of musical genres. Students learn to analyze and describe music, evaluate performances, and discover connections between music and other academic subjects such as history, culture, math, and science.
Our physical education program focuses on promoting healthy lifestyle choices and instilling a lifelong commitment to physical activity. Students engage in fitness training through games, conditioning exercises, and movement activities that encourage overall well-being.
Spanish is integrated into the standard curriculum, with additional foreign language options available for an extra fee, including German, Latin, and French through online learning platforms. High school students are required to complete three consecutive years of a foreign language to meet graduation requirements.
Enrichment activities complement traditional learning by providing students with opportunities to engage in board games, arts and crafts, group physical activities, and more. Additional initiatives include community service projects, a character-building speaker series, etiquette lessons, and team-building exercises.
