mak·er·space

/ˈmākər /spās/ · noun

The Masada Prep makerspace is a collaborative workspace where students can create, learn, explore and share using everything from high tech to no tech tools. Our makerspace is open for students to expand their love of learning independently or collaboratively with fellow classmates.

Explore With Us

At Masada Prep, our makerspace is a dedicated area for students to explore their interests and facilitate their love of learning beyond the classroom. From individual exploration to collaborative projects, this area is focused on student-centered inquiry. There are no projects done at the end of a unit of learning. Instead, our makerspace is the actual vehicle and purpose of learning.

Explore the Makerspace

“A makerspace is a destination where students-sometimes alongside staff, parents, and mentors can create, problem-solve, and develop skills, talents, thinking, and mental rigor."

Preddy, L., (2013). School library makerspaces: Grades 6-12.

What is in a makerspace?

Simply put, a makerspace is a place where you can make things. It’s a place for hands-on learning with all the tools for creativity. Every school’s makerspace is different, but at Masada Prep, you might find a dollhouse replica one day and Lego stations another day. We’re also excited to include zSpace Technology.

The Makerspace is used as a place where all students can explore, analyze and think critically. The key is collaboration.

How to Get Involved

All Masada Prep students are eligible to access the makerspace and zSpace technology. It is part of the regular education offered at Masada, Prep.
